In photography class we played with shutter speed. Both stoping motion and blurring it. Shutter speed is how long the camera exposes the picture to light. The longer it stays open the more light it will let in. If you take photos using a very high shutter speed, less light will be let in. You'll have to adjust the ISO and Aperture so your photos don't come out dark.
